Spirotech Service & Maintenance, based in Nether Poppleton, handle the installation and servicing side for Spirotech’s design and manufacturing projects and Director Ben Morgan is delighted that his son Liam has now joined the team on a four year apprenticeship, working four days at Spirotech plus another as a day-release student at college.
Liam started his hands-on training at the York office last year and attends York College one day a week to study design and engineering to NVQ Level 3. The training is very thorough throughout the various departments and Liam is currently actively involved in project design and in producing conceptual drawings for Spirotech’s sales quotations.
Gaining more experience every day
Spirotech has designated mentors for each of the apprentices to instruct and check each task and offer valuable advice and the experience gained in both watching and being part of the design team is vital for the apprentices overall understanding and development.
